Not sure which role to go for

I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment, currently on maternity leave from a marketing role and have been offered to apply for a new role going back to being an assistant but more senior and for a different director. The company is currently making voluntary redundancies so the role has to be internally filled. But I'm really on the fence, sometimes I'm really up for the new role some days I'm not.
New role:
Pros:
Possibly slightly more money, around £120 a month
More flexibility to manage my own hours around childcare etc
A type of role I was very good at previously, hence why I have been asked to apply for it
More senior in terms of department responsibilities etc
Easier to do this role hybrid as it's all admin sort of stuff
Potentially a safer role with regards to the redundancy phase we're in
Better for my cv as a chance to manage a team so when I come to leave one day I could step into a more senior role

Cons:
I would be returning from mat leave having to learn the ropes of a new director and different responsibilities
Potentially some quite easy but time consuming work

Existing role
Pros:
Can literally slip right back in to what I was doing before
Love most of my team
Opportunity to develop with training (although this wouldn't mean anything financially)
It's a creative role so it is more fun than admin, but also harder

Cons:
A new head of our team, he's a big micro manager and causing a lot of stress for my colleagues at the moment. He's changed the way the team operate, takes everything on, I'm really worried about working for him and think it will cause me a lot of stress. This is my main con
Hard to do this role hybrid as I need the two screens for graphic design etc
No progression in the team, would have to look externally for a marketing manager role, and tbh the salaries for external marketing manager roles are the same as what I'm on now so probably wouldn't be worth it financially

I feel like either way I'm letting people down so I really don't know what to do 😭

I would say its a no brainer to be honest, new role all the way.

Definitely the new role - the micromanagement will make your old job unbearable, and the flexibility, potential progression and more money is a big plus.

New role!
Although if the two screen set up was the deal breaker that’s easy enough to sort. But it doesn’t sound like it is!

Thanks all didn't think there would be such a clear consensus!
@randoname no it's not the deal breaker, and would find having two screens at home a bit annoying as I work in the kitchen so would have to store them somewhere.

Joining the chorus that new role sounds way better and at all costs to avoid the micromanager.

work in the kitchen

If that really is your only option, then I'd encourage you to work out what else you can do. You can get articulated arms to mount screens on a wall. You need to set up a comfortable working environment if you really are going to work from home productively.

Yes completely agree! We're getting a summer house/office in the garden this month so think I will likely move my desk space into there so I can get a proper office chair etc.

Just to update, I decided to apply for the role and have an interview end of the month 💙 thanks all, your unanimous view that the new role was a no brainer really helped with my perspective

Hi all! I ended up getting the role, however turned it down based on the fact it was going to be far more work which I knew, they weren't going to up the salary in any way. I asked for a bit more, what I knew my predecessor was on and in line with the team I would be managing, but was told no so I would have actually been on less than my team despite having far more responsibility. So there we are! I said thanks but no thanks, will have to muddle through with my new boss 😂
