Too keen staff

Recently our company has hired many staff in India site. I have one staff member so far who has started. He is hard working but over excited about things. He ask questions in our leadership teams (which is absolutely ok), but, he has endless questions. Some of these questions are more details related which he can speak to the team about. I understand that any new starter would like to make an impression but this is getting crazy. My 1:1 are all way too long as he wants to understand my challenges and management goals. These are usually understood as yiu prefers in your role. Without crushing his excitement how do I tell him to "turn down the excitement slightly low"?

I think you need to start by setting boundaries in your 1:1s. “We have half an hour so you’ll need to prioritise which questions to ask me.” And then you end the meeting on time!

My DH had a very similar experience with a team member from India. I think it may be at least partly a bit cultural - the team member is trying to show, in their own "India work culture" way, that they are very engaged and promotion-worthy etc.
So whilst PP is right that you need to set some boundaries (which is what my DH did), there is also a role for the team member, to recognise that the UK work culture (if UK is where you are) is different and in the UK you demonstrate your value and enthusiasm in a slight different way.
