What are you currently doing?
do you have lots of contacts in the industry?

If you register with some corporate event staffing agencies you can experience the event as an entry level person to start to see how it all fits together.

Google for your area.

I work in corporate events - I imagine its less stressful than weddings as people are less invested when things go wrong.

I work for an organisation and not self employed so cannot answer that but tbh its still stressful - things such as constantly thinking about if you have enough people attending or might have to cancel, what to do wheb the microphone /powerpoint doesnt work or the chair/speaker doesnt turn up.I also run webinars so you need to be fairly confident with technology. It also depends on the event - hybrid events or conferences over several days are very stressful if you are ultimately in charge.

You need to be organised and a good problem solver and have budget and negotaition skils. Marketing background helps.
