Wrong job?

A job I have applied for before that I really wanted came up again. So, I decided to apply. I had a message from the employer for a video call, which I accepted. Had my interview last night via video call. The interview seemed to go well, but I had a nagging feeling by the end. I really wanted this job last time but wasn't even offered an interview. Now I have, I'm not sure if it would be the right move. It's in a complete different industry to what I'm working in now. I should hear back middle of next week apparently. Anyone else applied for a job that they really wanted then after an interview doubt starts to kick in? I don't know if it's because it's a whole different sector and I'm just second guessing myself. Thanks

What are the reasons you wanted this job? Are they still valid?

Apart from lack of experience/knowledge of the new sector (which can be gained), are there other reasons you are now having doubts?

Interviews should always be a two way process. If you liked the job on paper, but having spoken to them you’re not sure then I would back your instincts.
There is also no problem being totally honest about it if you do get an offer. The post useful feeedback is specific. Can you pin point what about the interview made you think that this role may not be a good fit for you?
Is there anything you think they could say or do that would change your feeling towards the role?

You'd need to go and meet the employer, see the set up before deciding.

Thank you for replying. I honestly don't know. The interview was going fine, then half way through doubts started to set in. I've never had a video call interview before so that was a new experience.

Thank you. Yes, I suppose it did look better on paper than what they were saying in the interview. I think at some point around when they were saying every year they go away as a team for a weekend. Not training as such, and it was mandatory. I know....other people will probably say, 'So what's wrong with that'. But the fact that it's mandatory and not optional is a bit much. Like you're being forced regardless. I've never had a job where you've had to do that before.

There's so much unknown in a new job. I do feel if there's an offer to you next week, you shall request to go onsite to at least see the place and the people. I don't think they'd refuse unless there's something to hide.

My current job became a nightmare since the end of first month. I didn't do my interview onsite. They organised in a hotel. Now I'm nearly 5 months in and desperately want to go somewhere else. Anywhere... But there's no guarantee another new place could be a place I want to stay.

Thank you. Yeah, you're right. Best to visit the premises. I think it's just the unknown that made me wobble. Probably won't get offered the job anyway after all of this lol

Well, I've been invited to a face to face interview on site next week. So, at least I will get a feel of the place. Been thinking about it over the last few days since my video interview, and I'm quite excited to see the setup.
