Hi
first time posting here
so I was diagnosed with Fibro in October 2022
i am 32 years old, got 2 kids, husband works full time, i currently get universal credit,
but I just feel I’m so bored when they’re all at school and work, feel as if my brain is dying off! Yes I am absolutely exhausted all the time but surely there’s more to life than this?
i was wondering if anyone knows any courses I could do or work from home type jobs? Obviously I can’t do anything physical due to pain and mainly back problems.
im sick of us having no money as well, i feel like i cant bring in a wage because of my pain and its just so depressing.
any ideas for me please?
I already have 10+ GCSES
btec in art (which lead to nothing!)
level 3 in childcare
thanks

It really depends on the individual. Maybe start from what you can do without making your pain overwhelmingly bad. Can you type? Can you sit up for long? Stand for long? How long can you concentration before the brain fog gets to bad? There's a MN bit for people with chronic illnesses and disabilities, you might get more answers there.

How on earth is this helpful?!!!

I have similar health issues and work in finance mostly from home. You can study at home for bookkeeping and find part time work or build your own business over time.

I found a pain management course really effective and got back to work soon after attending.

Sorry can't help with work related courses. But as PP says, I'd also recommend a pain management course if you haven't had that already.
Fibromyalgia is quite a common condition and people do all sorts of jobs. If your pain is better controlled you may not need to limit yourself so much in choice of work.
A close friend has fibromyalgia and is a key worker in a nursery

It isn't going to bring in much money, but would keep you busier - could you use your level 3 and art to make resources for nurseries/childminders and sell them online somewhere? Rhyme/story spoons? Puppets?

Thanks I was actually looking into accounting courses last night but I’m unsure where to even start 🫠 or if I’m even clever enough 🤪

I am due to start a pain management course!! I go to the pain clinic for physio and I am due a psychological meeting soon. Hoping that will help. Thanks

We have a fair amount of 999 call handlers with Fibro.
All have their own chairs to assist pain management.
