How do I politely but assertively tell an agency I don't want to pursue a role any longer?

I emailed over my CV to an agency as I saw a job I thought I liked the sound of, however I don't want to pursue the job any longer. I spoke to the consultant at the agency and he asked me the usual questions; salary expectations and he went into a little more about the role. He said he'll send my CV over to the employer, but I don't want it now. How can I word it in an email to him without him turning 'funny'? and without him thinking I'm a time waster? (which I'm not). 🤷
TIA.

Thank them for sharing the additional details but either the role isn’t right for you right now, or the timing isn’t right for you to move.

I doubt they’ll ‘get funny’ - all you did was have an exploratory call about a role that was potentially interesting.

'Dear Joe Bloggs, thank you so much for all your help, would you please kindly withdraw my application for Position X as it is no longer something I wish to pursue. Thanks again, User1233456etc'.

I wouldn’t go into it too deep, just thanks for sharing that info, this one isn’t quite right for me at this time, so this isn’t a one I’d like to proceed with

I really wouldn't expend too much thought on this one. "Hi Joe, on reflection after speaking to the agency, I've realised this isn't the role for me, therefore can you please withdraw me. Thanks for your time and hope you find the right candidate."

Thank you for the answers. I've put exactly what most of you said to him in an email, but he hasn't answered 😆

That's par for the course. They are all over you like a rash to get the cv - think some are paid on the number of cvs they provide- but then if you aren't going ahead or are not deemed suitable by the employers, you never hear from most of them again.
