Sorry you're feeling like that. Thank you for all you do. I have a friend who went from nursing on a busy general hospital ward to school nursing, not that schools have a dedicated nurse anymore, but a visiting school nurse. Would that be an option. Another thing I know such a post may not be easy to come by.

Have you ever considered teaching? Science teaching could be something to consider and is a very rewarding career and term time.

Do you want to stay in Nursing or do something different ? I left Nursing after 35 years totally burnt out and MH at rock bottom. I left to train as a benefit advisor, worked first for a cancer charity and now for a charity for the elderly. I self taught myself a lot of the things. I now largely complete disability forms visiting elderly people, referring to adult social care etc. the pay is not a lot less than Nursing and the job is flexible, some home working. It can be challenging but mostly ok. The downside is that funding is always precarious and I will probably not be kept on after next year when my current project ends.
Could you lok at becoming a social presciber, this is something I would like to move into.

Go and see your GP and maybe take some time out to recover x

Bank nursing?

You could find a new and freat job if you are a bit around.

I hear you so much, I qualified in 2000 and just feel so done with nursing, the paperwork, the scrutiny. I left a ward manager position 2 years ago and do 2 days as a staff nurse and this has helped loads but still similar pressures at a lesser scale and less pay. I feel that I have totally lost my confidence and it’s difficult to know where to turn due to financial pressures.

good luck!

Private hospital?

If you think it's feasible to stay in nursing in some form, I would look at private companies that offer nursing advice by phone or online. Increasingly it seems that for WFH jobs you're going to need to offer significant skills of some kind - 30 years experience certainly counts there.

Would you consider research nursing?

I would start talking to some headhunters - at least via LinkedIn. Mark yourself as 'looking for work' and see what's out there.
