Would you use a hairdresser who has completed this training?

A 10 day intensive fast track course in hairdressing.

I’m in my thirties and have always loved hair. I went for an interview at a hairdressers when I was 16, didn’t get the job, found a job in an office and stuck to it. I ended up getting pregnant young and stuck to office work.

I feel like I really want to get into hairdressing but college/apprenticeship isn’t an option for me.

I would be wary about going to someone who only had 10 days training but interested to see what everyone else thinks

No.

Probably not but really who has ever checked a hairdressers qualifications/experience? You could be sat down in front of someone who hasn't cut hair in their life and you wouldn't know! (Well you might realise at the end).

Depends on what I wanted done. My daughter (no training) does a decent job trimming my hair so probably if it was something like that, as a start anyway, and the price reflected the training / experience of the hairdresser.

I probably would be put off I knew you'd only had ten days training, but never have I ever asked a hairdresser when they trained or where or for how long. I just book in and hope for the best!

No, absolutely not.

I've never asked a hairdresser to confirm their qualifications, always gone on recommendations.

Tbf, how would I know if you didn’t tell me.

Ok thanks!

Why do you think an apprenticeship is not gorgeous you? The college I work at has all ages, 4 day in the salon 1 day at college, you get the minimum wage as far as I recall and you may get UC if you have kids. We also have full-time students so all experience through college. What about barbering, think you can do this in an evening course.
I have my hair done by the students, and some are amazing better than when I used fully qualified. I don't see how you could do all the cutting, colouring, etc in a short time. Ppl think it is an easy option but there is a raft of health and safety to do, and lots of theory too.
However I think some of the most successful people I know are hairdressers/barbers working for themselves. They work extremely hard but appear to be rewarded for it. Good luck.

Agree with others - I would absolutely avoid you if I knew, but how would I know?

But - I do find it hard to imagine you’d be highly skilled with only that training, and wouldn’t that annoy you? Surely you’d want to keep learning and improve?

If you did a good job for a fair price, yes.
I have never asked our hairdresser about her training.
She trained in the Middle East and she is nice. I don't really mind.
