Should employee have the expectations that their work schedule be kept confidential?

My work schedules being leaked to my family; this is the third time I have switched positions and its still being leaked. I have quite a messy relationship with my father and step mom. My father tends to calculate my income based on what I earn and take all of my money. my step mother on the other hand is in a messy divorce with my father and is trying to trigger my reaction (or get me to implicate my dad in a court action). For my first job, my step mom had a lot of friends in the department so they would unknowingly leak my schedule to my stepmom who would take the chance to go through my belongings in search of 'evidence' or harrass my younger brothers in my absence. so i switched to a different department and got a different schedule and somehow she got a hold of this schedule too (this time she told my dad and my dad began asking for my paychecks) so i got job #3 to supplement my income. and yet again my schedule is leaked. so i set a trap, i resigned from all jobs and told one I would be traveling out of the country with my family as my reason for resigning (its believable as i lost both grandmothers last year) and told the other job i will be moving to a different department to focus on research. my step mom as blasted my phone with 38 missed calls and my father with over 100 calls asking why we would leave the country and a bunch of other nonsensical accusations, so i now know where the leak is coming from and who i suspect, can i report this to HR even though i already resigned. we live in a pretty small town so what is the assurance that this would not happen there again. I don't mind my co-workers having access to my schedule but is there a reasonable expectation of confidentiality regarding my schedule outside work related matters? Can i expect that my co-workers will not hand my schedule over to someone else because they say they are my family or for some other reason?

You need to leave home

Chowtime · 05/01/2025 22:29

eh? you wot?

Harassedevictee · 05/01/2025 22:36

Yes you can still report to HR and they should investigate.

Flossflower · 05/01/2025 22:53

I would second that you need to leave home. How old are you? Do you live in the UK and are there any cultural reasons why your father thinks you should give him all you wages?
You should report this to HR.

Okay....

LaLatina · 06/01/2025 07:52

You’re worrying about the deckchairs on the Titanic. Just move out!

Hackedoffinoldage · 07/01/2025 21:08

Not sure I understood any of that but sounds like you need to move out and potentially far away.

FlyingFox · 07/01/2025 21:15

What the heck, this is outrageous! Firstly no your work should not be giving your schedule to anyone, go to HR and tell them straight away. Secondly why is your father taking all your money?! That's an even bigger issue!! How old are you and where do you live, USA I assume as the work "mom" is being used.

DaftyLass · 07/01/2025 23:29

You need to leave home as soon as possible, these people have too much involvement in your life.

Hesonlyakidharry · 07/01/2025 23:33

Grow up and move out. Stop moving jobs; the jobs aren’t the actual problem.

I am sorry you are going through this with your dad and step mum, it sounds awful and yes report to HR

HPandthelastwish · 08/01/2025 00:17

I would get a live in job somewhere far from home and get some independence from the craziness at home. I assume you are young so holiday camps, outdoor activity centres, large estates, cruise ships are all options. Or just take lodgings in someone's spare room. Preferably in another town from where you currently live away from this ridiculous behaviour

OhcantthInkofaname · 08/01/2025 00:47

How old are you and what country do you live in?
