Really worried job offer may be withdrawn NHS

Hi I'm hoping someone can help with this as I'm starting to really worry.
I've recently been given a conditional offer for my dream job in the NHS.
They have asked for a lot of information and have contacted my line manager for references. However they have asked for my whole sick record from line manager from the five and a half years I've worked there.
I work in education so have caught all the usual stuff over the years colds, DV, tonsillitis and COVID I also had a foot injury and was off for a few days. I've worked it out at around 2/3 incidents per year this also includes two signed off absences for around 4 / 5 weeks when my mum died and then when my marriage ended, both very much one off events.
They haven't asked me to provide this information just my employer. I'm now really worried they may withdraw my offer after reading some information online.
Can anyone give any advice on this please as I'm unsure what to do.

They won't care

The NHS reference usually only asks for the total number of days and number of absences (in my experience it's been last 2 or 3 years)
If it's high absences you'll likely get a call from occupational health who will go through the reasons for each absence, any ongoing conditions and what you are doing to manage your health.

If it's mainly due to work related injuries snd one-off life events it will probably be fine

As I say it's been things that are common in schools and then a bereavement and a divorce for a longer period but it was weeks not months. I also had COVID and at that point (2021) we had to stay off I think for ten days at that time. It's just stressful as I think the form just asks for the dates and the time off ,not why.
Thanks for the information 🙂

Yes it's only dates, they won't ask for reasons in a reference as it's confidential medical info.
OH will go through the reasons with you, what treatment you had, how you are now, if it's likely to recur.

Try not to worry as it's totally standard in an NHS reference to ask for absence record.

Firstly congratulations! Oh do not worry at all. It's just standard procedure. Good luck in your new job!

I’ve had this concern. I left my old job following a period of long term sickness and I was so, so concerned about this, particularly as part of the reason I wanted to leave was because I recognised my previous role wasn’t sustainable for my mental health and I needed to make changes.

I was terrified they would withdraw the job off but in the end, they didn’t actually even arrange an OHU appointment until well after I started and even then, the OHU was much more concerned about my back problems (for which I’ve never had time off, I just need a decent chair) than my mental health. I also had two minor incidents of sickness (stomach bug and flu) as well.

Gosh who hasn't got sick leave the last few years with covid, flu etc.

Good luck op, sure it'll be okay.

Im hoping as I can explain most of it, it should be ok just seems like a lot of history to have to send 😕

NHS won’t bother or be overly concerned with this, is your conditional offer based on having no sick days or a certain number, which I doubt, they probs want to know if you’ve had six months every year for five years , the time you’ve had off seems fair in the environment you’ve worked and life events , good luck x
