I am looking at ways to improve my cv. Currently I am volunteering after a long time out of work. and I think these courses could help in the line of volunteering I am in. Has anyone done one before? Is it just a matter of signing up, going through the material and then sitting an online exam?

I am paranoid about being scammed so unsure if they are legit

Yup. Depends which exam you go for but lots are multiple choice especially the easier levels.

Thank you. Have you sat any exams with them. Are they at a set time and you just log in on the day?

I'm currently doing my level 3 certificate in insurance. I'm going to do the exam for the first module at the end of the month.

It's been 6 or 7 years since I did mine - Cert CII and a couple of diploma modules - and things may have changed, but for the cert modules with multiple choice exams I went to a local test centre to do it online with everyone in a big room of computers. The written exams for the diploma modules were in a hotel with desks laid out like an exam hall writing on pen and paper!

It's very easy to sign up and book everything, they'll send you the materials and you book the exams when you are ready

There's info here on the types of assessment, including remote invigilation

https://www.cii.co.uk/learning/qualifications/assessment-information/

Just make sure you order/book anything through the CII website if you are worried about scams
