And did it/has it damaged your career in any way?

I took about 9 months off in my late 20s. I was a band 6 at the time and left my job to work and live in a ski resort. I ended up doing bank work when I came back and was asked to reapply for my old job. No it didn’t damage my career at all and the break was good for me

Anyone else? Hopeful bump

Not the same, but I left the NHS and worked abroad (still as a nurse) for 19 years or so.
i rejoined UK register and got a Band 7 role. This is a down grade for me but on balance, the lower pay for a lot less responsibility is a choice I am happy with.
There are so many nursing jobs.
If there is something else you’d like to do, go for it. If you choose to come back to nursing it will all be waiting for you! It’s not hard to work your way back up (assuming you’d have to which I very much doubt). I imagine you’d be a better nurse for some time out and different life experience.

Would depend on why you are doing it.
To train and develop yourself - could be beneficial
To do nothing/have a year’s holiday - perhaps less so

Do it if you can! Can't beleive it would affect your career prospects.
I took a 4 month sabbatical to travel ... one of my best life decisions.
