NHS pay step

I reached the two year anniversary this month in my job and had emails to confirm that I had reached this step.
My pay does not reflect any change, my annual salary has remained the same and my date now says December 25 whereas last month it said December 24.
Does anyone know why this could've happened? I'm really fed up tbh

When did they confirm your pay had changed? In most jobs you get paid in areas rather than in advance, so if your anniversary was this month, I would expect your pay to change from 1st January and it would be reflected in your end of January pay.

Your increment date is the date you started in your current role. When did you start, was it the 24th or 25th? I would query why the date has changed. But you aren't going to see much of an increase for December pay anyway

That's not the case for nhs instrumental uplifts, overtime and expenses are in arrears but the increment date is known well in advance so if her uplift is in month she should receive the partial increase that month.
Op do you have the MyESR app? You can view payslips etc via that..

So my start date was 19.12.22 and I was expecting a small change this month and the salary to change. Nothings changed and the date now says 19.12.25 for my step point

Apparently the paperwork hasn't been done.
I'm lost for words tbh. They will back date it when it's all done but that doesn't compensate for that money not being in my account on payday and me having to chase and sort it. I'll head into the new year as demoralised as i will ending it

What paperwork though? Your incremental rises are automatic, managers don't complete individual paperwork for their staff to receive their increases unless its exceptional in some way. I don't understand this at all...
You need to get into Self Service and review your employment information.

If I recall correctly from my time in the NHS, you get elevated to the next step in the new pay year (from April following the anniversary). I'm not sure if this is Trust dependent or an NHS-wide thing but it was happened to me where I got the usual pay increase plus the step increase in April after my anniversary which was in October. It should be automatic via Payroll although Payroll can be useless in some Trusts - I can say a lot about one Trusts HR and Payroll, bloody terrible is the polite way.

socks1107 · 19/12/2024 14:22

In our trust you have to meet certain criteria to be given the pay rise. Mandatory training. Appraisals etc. I've met all that and they want the sign off paperwork from my manager who didn't submit it.
Really poor tbh but there we are!

It's rubbish that it has not been actioned, but if your increment date is 19/12 your payslip would only show an increase of pay from 19-31/12 so approx only 1/3 of the monthly increased payment which wouldn't show as very much I expect

That's right, not much this month. It's just so demoralising when even that hasn't been sorted and there's no reason for it.
It should be done for next month and the back pay included for this month
