If I’m earning £886 a month on a joint claim and I have a child as well as my partner getting limited capability of work how much money will be taken off my wages would I be better off not working

You’re always better off working on UC.

Urmm if you are physically and mentally well enough to work then you work 🤦🏽‍♀️

Its always worth working on universal credit...would be a pretty crap system if you could earn more in state benefits than wages.

You keep a certain amout of the pound you earn whilst you are entitled to universal credit, until your wage is over the threshold amount.

If you get help with housing costs, you can earn £404 per month before deductions are made. Then every £1 of earnings after deductions (tax, NI etc) will remove 55p from your award.

If you don't get help with housing costs, you can earn £673 before deductions are made.

If your DH has LCWRA, have you added a carer's element to your UC?
