What are some ideal roles to move into from 999 call handler with an ambulance service?

I have a friend who does ambulance logistics - for the non emergency ambulances. Example for bringing patients for dialysis. Loves it.

@LadySad I was hoping more something either in the public sector or maybe still in the NHS – wondering whether I'd be able to go up a band

Move to Fire Service control. You get paid more money and it's not as stressful.

HI OP,

I am also a 999 emergency call handler for an ambulance service and I'm just wondering why you want to leave the role?

I have also wondered what my next job could be if I were to leave, surely the amount of training we do for this job must count highly towards something else?

I would be interested to hear if you also do the 12 hour shifts?

Thanks

I'm considering simply another NHS role? My trouble is that the role is well suited to me as a disabled person. What were you doing before this role of yours if you don't mind me asking?

I’m guessing you must have considered moving to Dispatch? Or management within EMA?

Kudos by the way - I think EMA is the hardest job in the ambulance service by far, and Band 3 is ridiculous.
