Divide your annual salary by 12.

ProfessorGambol · 05/10/2024 11:30

Is that what the salary would be if you were full time? How many hours per week is full time?

Divide your annual salary by 12.

This, if they pay your annual salary of 17,899 monthly just divide it, holidays etc are irrelevant as they’re paid.

Let’s round up your annual leave to six weeks. So you are paid for 39+ 6 weeks of the year = 45 weeks.

If the salary of 17,899 is for full time (52 weeks) then you want to divide by 52 then x by 45 to get your annual salary = 15,489.

Then divide that by 12 for your monthly pre-tax salary = £1,290.

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 05/10/2024 11:36

Is that salary already pro-rata (it's below minimum wage for full time 52 weeks) if so then just divide by 12 for your monthly pay

Are you paid in 12 equal payments - even in months when you are not working - like in teaching or are you only paid in the months you work?

Aleera · 06/10/2024 15:46

Yes I will be getting paid every month even when I am not working like teachers

I’m not sure there is enough information here to say. I presume you’ll need to pro-rata it down twice-once for the weeks and again for the hours.

Is the salary based on someone working a 37.5 hour week?

Is that salary you’ve posted full time equivalent or already pro rata?

Also if you are actually working 39 weeks and the 5.6 weeks holiday is extra then you're actually working 44.6 weeks. Either way - you just need to divide 17,899 by 12.
