Employer using dissolved business name on payslips

Have worked at the same business for over 5 years, In May 24 the original company was dissolved & is showing as this on companies house website. A new person took over as director of the business but they are not in the building (I've no idea who they are)
On my payslips from June to now the dissolved company is still listed as paying my wages but my pension money that is deducted every month is not going to my pension. My pension provider & pension ombudsman can't help me as the company listed as deducting the money on my payslip doesn't exist. Absolutely no help at all from manager of business she walks away or shuts office door if we ask questions.

How do I get my money back???
Tax & national insurance still being paid to HMRC under dissolved company name.

Have you spoken to HMRC and Companies House? Your employer is breaking the law and possibly stealing money from you.

You can also complain here:

Sorry no advice but this sounds extremely dodgy

have you got someone in payroll that you can ask where is my pension money going?

BobbyBiscuits · 01/10/2024 10:59

Could you try and contact the trustees of the pension scheme? Maybe the Pensions Regulator? If that still exists? But it is the company who's being dodgy rather than the pension scheme. This is definitely not legal.

I can't get through to HMRC, automated phone doesn't have an option for this & it just sends me round in circles.
No payroll depart, it's a small business, manager adds up hours & sends them to a outsourced payroll company. No idea who these are

Pension scheme is nest, they refer me to the pension regulator & they then send me to the pension ombudsman who say they can't do anything if I'm not paid by the company on my pay slip.

You can also:
Call the ACAS helpline on 0300 123 1100.

Speak to your union rep (though in almost every case where people post these problems, they aren't in a union.

Raise a grievance with the company. You need to so this if you want to take them to an employment tribunal in future. You need to email your boss, setting out what the issue is, and asking them to rectify it. That creates a paper trail.

To get through to HMRC chose any option which gets you through to an operator, and they will redirect you. They also have a fraud hotline 0800 788 887.

Whilst the Payslip is stating what Tax and NI is deducted for HMRC, that does not necessarily mean it has actually been paid to them, same as the pension that hasn't been paid. Time for them to stop fobbing you off and let you know what's going on.

Its not exactly uncommon to find a business hasnt handed over Tax, NI & pension contributions.

My suggestion might be that Directors should be personally liable in these cases
