Tricky situation and meeting Monday to resolve

I am in school and opened a new centre within it that should be staffed better. Half of the staff though have been used in the main school. Headteacher said they are short staffed. Behaviours are increasing. Head of dept goes missing most days and isn’t hands on. She’s very good friends with Head Teacher outside school.
I bitterly regret moving to this school. An incident happened last week and literally no one helped. I took time off work (migraine) but came back for a half day Friday.

what do I do ?

Head teacher is nice, is hands on. He cannot see what I’d going on due to his friendship with Head of Dept who spoofs and bluffs most days. I have told him straight up now I have no support and I bypass head of dept now for urgent matters, I don’t like her either. But I try and keep professional.

Keep it factual. Keep it documented, write contemporaneous notes. Go back and make notes of what you can remember of the incident. Keep it professional and focus on potential (actual) harm to children, staff welfare, reputation of school.

Document your concerns and what you tell head, protect yourself.

Look for a new job.

Have you talked to your union? If you are in the union get their support.

Royalshyness · 28/09/2024 10:08
