How long would you expect for tests as part of a job interview?

Think, professional services as the sector.

If testing is part of the process, how long would you expect a company to give you tests for?

Would an hour at home and then 20-30 minutes more of testing at face to face stage be unreasonable? Would it make you turn the job down as it's too overwhelming/ invasive?

The tests are aptitude tests (reasoning, maths, personality, situational etc)

I'd hope my employer would have some idea of the function and purpose of the tests, rather than just doing them because they could, and allow the time required to fulfill that function. Are you the employer? You should do the tests that you need to do, the minimum possible. Yes excessive willy nilly testing especially in my own time at home would pyr me off by making me think the employer doesn't value my own time already

An hour at home seems like quite a lot but employers expect a lot in 'professional services' so you need to be confident that applicants are as competent as their application suggests as it's not unknown for them to get help whether from a friend/relative or AI when completing applications.

Serious applicants who want the job will be prepared to put some effort in and at that level, multiple interview rounds and observed 'tasks' are par for the course.
