workload in state primary schools

I am looking for a new teaching post. I have several years experience but it has nearly all been in the independent sector( especially most recent experience). As I am restricted geographically, there are no independent schools within easy travelling time for me - I cannot compromise on that.(have my children thibk anout too re. getting to school etc.)

I have been looking at jobs available for September and there are lots of jobs in state primary schools - some of the schools are good and would be near enough too. However, I would really like to know just what the workload is like in state primary schools nowadays, especially regarding how much day to day paperwork you need to do with regard to assessment , individual learning plans, target setting and planning requiremenmts for OFSTED.I know that I would have to get used to 30 pupils on average instead of an average of the 16-20 per class that I have been used to. I know what marking is like except that in the independent school I worked in , I know that there was little record keeping regards assessments and inspections were nothing like as daunting as the OFSTED ones I have heard about in other schools. However, I also I never had towork with a teaching assisant for more than a few hours a week in classand I wonder if that would difficult to get used to. I have heard some tales of personality clashed between teachers and their classroom assisants, for example.

Any advice would be appreciated.
