I've not been in this position before so I’m wondering if anyone can give me any advice.
A new role has come up in my organisation that I’d like to apply for. If I was successful it would mean working in a different department with new colleagues and line manager etc. My current line manager and I have a great relationship shop and if it wasn’t for this post coming up I would have no plans to leave at all.
Do I let them know I am applying for the role? Do I not say anything and only let them know when/if I get an interview or am (touch wood) offered the role?
I would hate for them to find out I had applied without me notifying them first but I am also concerned that if I tell them, go for interview and then don’t get the role that it might make things uncomfortable and I’d like to avoid that. Any advice greatly appreciated!
