My best friend works in health care. There is an individual that has severe MH needs which can be unpredictable and has had outbursts of violence which has affected the people that she lives with. All staff feel scared not trained and necessary agencies are no help, management also. The individual needs the help and support in the right setting. Staff are often on their own working too
He Is thinking of contacting CQC would they take it seriously

Does their organisation have an internal whistleblowing policy? They should do and this is the first port of call. If they genuinely feel they cannot do this then report to NHS England (presuming she is working in England).

They can then refer on to the CQC if that is the best route but to be honest the CQC is in a bit of a state at the moment (did you see the news stories in July?) so NHSE is probably the best bet initially. Hope things start to improve for him soon.
