A little bit lost......

I started a new role in May this year, it was a side ways move within the same organisation but a different area and dept. There was no scope for progression within my former role despite me working outside my remit, some of which as just the natural development of the role/area. I did enjoy my role, there were ups and downs and I was blocked by a colleague in a number of key decision's that I pushed back on because of negative connotation's for the team and got to a point were I felt I had outgrown the role. So I took the side ways move to broaden my experience. Nearly 4 months in and I feel that I have taken quite a step back, in some ways this is good as I guess on reflection my former role nearly broke me. The teams I work with now work largely remotely and I am finding it hard to make connection as I am no longer managing the work streams but more like supporting. I am used to working relatively proactively and feel that I am working quite reactively. They all have their own specific areas, I work across 2 different areas and have a line manager that doesn't have any connection to either area. I have had some very good feedback from one of the areas but nothing from the other area. This way of working is impacting on my confidence. I feel quite nervous when I am with the Leads for the team where I have had no feedback. The Lead is quite gregarious and I just feel useless. There were some handover notes, which are largely screen prints but have been useful to some degree, but not everything has been clear in terms of the how/why & when.
Apologies for the rambley message, I guess I am looking from words of wisdom from others with similar experiences. I am not sure if this role is just not for me or whether I have not given it enough time. How can I improve the connection? Everyone seems nice but there are no real conversations even when everyone is in the office.

Hi All
I have been reflecting and think that despite having really good annual reviews etc that the type of roles and the employer I have been in over the past few years are not really for me.
