What are you trying to work out, how much you will be paid each month or what your weekly rate actually is?

RosaBaby2 · 22/08/2024 07:16

If its education based it'll be 39 weeks plus holidays. So times your hourly rate by 22.5 then by the number of weeks (including holidays) then divide by 12.

Hey thanks for your reply!

How much I'll get each month.

I'm on minimum wage. I know school term is 39 hours , will I also get holiday pay to ?

Many thanks again for your help, can get my head round it! 😁

22.5/37 x 39/52 x annual salary - then divide by 12 for monthly gross amount

This assumes your organisation does 37 hour weeks.

Thank you Rosababy2

Is holiday entitlement 5.6 weeks?

What information do you know?
An hourly rate? - follow Rosa's guidance.

A FTE salary? You need to know full working hours - often 37.5 or 40 hours a week. Them the sum is salary × (22.5/full hours) × (weeks worked/52)

My weeks worked are 44.6 - 39 weeks of school plus 5.6 weeks leave.

Edited as my multiplication turned to bold

Thursdaygirl · 22/08/2024 07:24

if your basic term is 39 weeks, and you get 4 weeks paid holiday, your paid weeks are therefore 43. So:

22.5/37 x 43/52 x annual salary. Then divide by 12 for monthly gross amount

Edited to add I have an education employer and this is how we calculate term time salaries, we call it equated pay

BloodyAdultDC · 22/08/2024 07:41

Term time only contracts will be entitled to statutory holiday allowance of 5.6 weeks.

So your working year is 44.6 weeks.

Figure out how many hours a week you'll be working, multiply by your hourly rate, then by 44.6.

If you are paid every month divide this figure by 12.

Don't forget deductions for tax/NI/pension.

Many thanks to all!

Think I've sussed out how much I'll get 😁

Appreciate all your help
