Document Controller training

Hi, are there any Document Controllers on here? Can you recommend a good training course that I could do to help me get a job in this field?

I am looking to change job to increase how much I earn, and Document Control would be a good fit with what I currently do, but need something solid on my CV.

Also, what are the most used document management systems out there, so I can focus on those?

Many thanks 😊

Most of the doc controllers I’ve known have moved into it from being Project Administrators on the same project, and then it tends to be learning through experience rather than a particularly training course.

Project Wise & Teamcentre seem to be the ones I’ve seen the most. Good experience of Sharepoint too is useful.

Understanding and following process, plus good change management skills are good to highlight. Look at big projects near to you, big EPC contractors and consultancies as a way in.

Veeva is very big, seems to be the gold standard and growing like a mushroom.
I would look to go down a more system administration role; more IT, than straight up Doc Control. These systems run themselves dat-to/day, people are needed to manage updates, workflows and configuration.

Thanks @PortiasBiscuit.
I need something that will lead on from what I currently do. I'm not sure that I have the experience for IT admin.
