I have worked in the care industry for many years from supporting to Management.
A few years ago I decided to go back to supporting as I enjoy the interaction with clients etc.
My Deputy Manager has very little experience and I am finding myself challenging a lot of her decisions, as I have witnessed her “winging” her responses to situations which result in negative outcomes, when I have suggested ideas which could and have proven to work better.
I am very confident whereas she is not.
Do I have to “dumb” myself down in order for her to feel empowered and agree with her, basically follow what she is saying when I know there is a better way.
I understand she is my boss but is it my fault she does not have strong leadership skills.
i am thinking perhaps I should leave as our interactions are not healthy for both of us.
