Interviewing with a speech impediment

Hi, I've got a speech impediment as a result of a hypoxic brain injury and I've got an interview in 2 weeks time. It's a band 6 NHS role which is the same as I do now so I think in depth answers will be needed.

I also have to do a presentation, which I'm not looking forward to. I was thinking I could put text to speech files in the slides but they lack intonation.

Could I ask not to do a presentation? It's so hard as this is a new disability for me.

If you have a disability you are entitled to ask for reasonable adjustments at the recruitment stage.
So if you have a speech problem you could ask to do the presentation in slide form only, with no speaking but all the information on the slides

That way you still have the opportunity to put your ideas over so you can have as good a chance of success as the other candidates

Make so adjustments… such as pre-record some parts of your presentation.

Do you have a friend who could physically say the words for a recorded version if you scripted it in advance?

I think it would be totally reasonable to ask to produce an entirely written presentation if you wanted and that absolutely wouldn't give me a negative impression. However, if you did find a way - embedded text to speech (I think there are some AI sites now which will do intonation etc), or a friend etc, then personally I would be wowed by someone's totally can-do approach to a very difficult task. But I would definitely ask in advance as they may have an adjustment they know they can put in place.

Thanks everyone - I'll try and put some text to speech into it and see how I go.
