Worried about not getting a new job

I was made redundant and my payout is about to come to an end. I haven't yet got a job. Or any interviews. I'm not really sure what I'm asking other than what can I do that is out of the ordinary? Because I have done absolutely everything so far!

No advice but solidarity! I’m in a similar position, I was made redundant during my Mat leave and now my baby is 1, I thought I’d be back in a job at this point.
At least in my industry there have been lots of redundancies, and not enough new roles to mop up everyone that’s job hunting, so I’m taking some comfort that the market is just not in my favour atm.

Sorry you're in the same position @CityKity I'm refreshing all the usual job boards and just want to be actively looking rather than passively waiting for something to come up!

I spoke to a career coach who said I was doing all the right things. I just need to get my CV and cover letter up to 2024 AI keyword filter standards. So at least I have a new focus of activity.

If you are not getting interviews then you really need to take a very critical look at your CV.

You should use the job description/person spec of the role you are applying for as the template, the goal is to make it as easy as possible for the recruiter or the automated sifting tool to tick off the requirements on the JD/PS, think of it as a scoring sheet.

A trick for the keyword filter is to write your CV in Word, add a footer and in the footer write as many relevant key words as you can think of. Use small font so you can really go wild and add lots of 'tags'. Then change the font colour to white so it can't be seen. Convert the word doc to pdf and submit it as an off.

The automated sifting tool will pick up all of the key words without you needing to find a way to make coherent sentences that include 300 possible keywords related to your experience and industry.

This is exactly what I did and I now have 2 interviews!
