Not being allowed to use technology for interview presentation

Anyone encountered this before? I got invited for an interview and have been asked to prepare a presentation without the use of any technology. They did ask to present slides but just print them out. The presentation is supposed to be about a project I've done using a specific software. This software is all about data visualisation. Maybe I'm being unreasonable but this has really put me off the job. I work in sustainability and printing out slides for me plus multiple panel members doesn't seem particularly sustainable. It also just feels really old-fashioned. Any idea why they might be taking this approach?

What's the job role? This would concern me to be honest.

It may be that they want to see your presentation / speaking skills without 'depending' on PowerPoint but to me that points to their limited understanding of how these type of tools can be properly utilised.

It could also be because they don't have the IT to set up for a presentation - I'm not joking btw!!

With this context, I wouldn't feel good about continuing and would probably cut my losses unless it was an amazing employer and opportunity.

It could be that their IT policy is too restrictive to be able to run an external PowerPoint, but I suspect it's more likely to be that they don't have the setup to do this at interview as pp suggests.

Probably IT security, because it's difficult to get you be able to log into the WiFi.

I've come across it in previous jobs for that reason (legitimately, one of the places had to be much more secure due to the contracts it handled). Where I work now, we ask for PowerPoint the day before so the candidate doesn't have to connect to our network, it's such a faff getting IT to deal with the request. If they don't send it in advance, I usually give them a heads up that they need to bring a paper copy. The latter is out of courtesy, I'm not spending my time faffing with IT when a candidate can't be arsed to follow instructions

I've had to do this, I've been told a max if 4 slides and one no slides allowed. They wanted to see what i could do presenting wise rather than if i can make slides
