For the past 5 years I have worked part time, due to a health condition I reduced my working hours.
I work Tuesday to Thursday 9-3 which works well for me it is just the right amount of hours and I am also able to manage my hospital appointments as they always fall on a Monday or Friday.
A new manager started last month and since she started we have had a lot of sickness and holidays. She keeps asking if I can work till the end of the day 6pm and if I can work Monday and Fridays.
I have explained I can't but she keeps asking and has said she is going to change my shift pattern and my days off as I am not been flexible enough.

Does she know you work reduced hours due to your health condition and was this pattern agreed to in writing?

@whathasitgottodowiththepriceofoliveoil I have explained that i reduced my hours due to a health condition.
The change in contracted hours was agreed in writing but I don't think the hours to be worked each day were.

Speak to Acas. Not all contractual terms are written terms but you need proper advice on how to deal with this situation.

Do you have a HR person you can ask? A guidance book or staff handbook type thing.

What does she mean by shift pattern? Don't you have set days/hours in place?

@GoodVibesHere No HR

I work set shifts which I have done for the past 4 years but she wants to change them to different days/times.

But is she planning to give you different days/times every week, or is she planning to give you new set days/times? Have you told her that those are your days/times and you aren't able to change them?

Different times every week to cover other staff holiday/sickness.
I have explained that i need set hours/days so i can arrange my appointments on my days off and I cant change them, but she wont listen.

OK well my contracts have always been confirmed as being set days (even if the contract doesn't state the days) and haven't been shifts that are subject to change. Does your contract not cover this?

No wonder she's hot a lot of staff absence if she treats people like that. Terrible manager.
