Finally snapped in work

Hi, I finally had enough in work on Friday. After a heated discussion with my manager I walked out. He then reached out to my personal email to confirm my intentions. I am contracted 40 hours a week and had already worked 40 hours for the week and was properly due to finish on 47 hours. I replied apologising for leaving but explained that I felt it was best for my mental health and how my mood was effecting the wider team. I requested Friday and today (Monday) as a mental health day- the company offer 2 paid days. I just don’t think I can go back for the rest of the week. I am on sertraline and he is aware that I have been struggling mentally. I have tried the GP but no appointments today. I’ve never called in sick for this before and I am unsure what to do, I have an SSP- SC2 form. Do I just send these over to him? how much detail do I need to email over? Can I just say due to poor mental health I won’t be in for the rest of the wee?

I am putting plans in place to leave. I have two job interviews tomorrow and we would be okay if I was out of work for a few weeks- not ideal but doable.

Just call in sick in the way your absence policy advises you to. You can self certify for 7 days. After that visit your GP who will assess you and give more time if needed.

I have sent you a PM.

Self certify for 7 days, try and get in at the doctors in that time and see if they can sign you off until you find something else.

Good luck!

is that 47 hours before or after lunch hour? If its including lunch, that's normal, but if its before lunch, that's dangerously close to the maximum allowed by law. You should be making that clear. Are you in a union? Don't be blaming your ill mental health but look at the cause of it.
