60% commission

Hi all, i hope you are all very well.

I am currently on the look out for jobs! And I have found one advertised that seems to suit me perfectly,

The pay is by commission ONLY. There is no salary!

You make 60% commission on each sale.

This has confused me massively!

The sale can range from £500-10,000+.

So for example if I sold a product at 4,000 60% of that is 2400 but obviously I don't make that.

Can someone explain because I am clearly simple.

Which country do you live in - that's not legal here

Would it be 60% of the profit, rather than total sale amount?
So a product purchased for £80, sold at £100, would you get 60% of the £20 mark up?
what type of product industry is it?

It will be a self-employed sales agent position, not an employed job.

Hmm I'm not sure! It's a travel agency! & yes self employed based

That’s not a job it’s an MLM (I.e. a scam).

BeardedLodger · 02/07/2024 23:37

I assume it's this? Details of commission here: www.the-travel-franchise.com/commissions/

If it is the one to which @BeardedLodger links or something like that, it means that you earn commission on sales at a variable rate depending on the type of holiday and the supplier. You then get 60% of any commission you earn, with the franchisor keeping the rest. So if you sell a product for £4000, commission might be £400 and you would get 60% of that - £240.

You need to read the full terms and conditions, and get an illustration of how the commission structure works to find out what it's 60% of.

Remember, this is not a job. You're going to have to find the sales yourself before you can earn commission on them.
