Term time, school hour jobs

Good evening, I would be most grateful for help and direction in how to find a job to suit our family. I need:

  1. a term time only job (U.K.)
  2. between school hours (9am / 3pm)

Working in a school wouldn’t work for me (unless it was my children’s school) as I need to drop mine off and pick them up so wouldn’t make it in time to work at another school.
I can work 9-3 at home, otherwise I’d be travelling from home at 9am to a work place and would need to leave the workplace and be home by 3pm.
I have searched and searched, does anyone have any useful pointers or success stories?

thank you!

National Trust?
Places that welcome school groups on educational visits such as a farm, castle, other historical places of interest?

TAs often work shorter hrs (i.e around the same as the kids’ day). Does your kids’ school have any kind of wrap-around care that you could make work? I work 8-4 in a school and can just about do it using breakfast club and stay and play for my own children.

Dinner lady?

You could also do 9-5 and use after school clubs?

Is there a father? Could he do a drop off in the morning and you work 7-3?

Following as I’m looking for something similar. I’m a single parent to a disabled teen so no child care/support, I need to work when she’s at her placement (school hours) and I need school holidays off or to work from home.

To add, civil service offer all sorts of flexible hours. I think my work has over 50 different working patterns

Is there wraparound care at your child's school? Yes you would need childcare term time but not in the holidays

Contact your local adult education centre. If you don’t have a teaching qualification there may be TA roles. You might be able
to volunteer first to build skills before applying.
If you have a degree, you can do a CELTA course which qualifies you to teach English to adults: a hugely rewarding job, school hours & term time but under-resourced and badly paid 😊

Thank you all so much. I’ll take a look at those options. Really appreciate it.

Our school does have wraparound care but due to certain things my DC can’t do it and the school day is already at their limit.
Yes DH, but cannot do drop offs most days due to work schedule. Really do need to find something that works so I can do all drop offs and pick ups.
thank you x
