Anyone here successful in changing jobs with linkedin? I've applied for lots of roles and no interviews. I've been in my current role 17 years and it's frustrating! I've been playing around with linkedin and thought about trying premium so see if that would generate some interest, has anyone here been successful or any tips! Thanks

Set your background status as “open to opportunities” if you haven’t already, it doesn’t pop the green banner up.
Add recruiters to your network and contact directly
Make sure your work history/skills etc on your profile are to date
Follow companies you are interested in working for
Set up alerts for role types/companies you are interested in
Remember it’s a numbers game!
My last move came from the cultivating recruiter relationships and being on their lists of good/strong candidates
Good Luck 🤞🏻

Never Easy Apply! Always see if there’s a non LinkedIn link to the role. Connect with recruiters with a personal message. Lots of CVs are scanned digitally so use keywords from the job description.

Applying for jobs on LinkedIn is like looking for a needle in a haystack. There are lots of ghost jobs where employers or search firms are building a candidate database or checking interest/salary levels; or it’s company policy to advertise but they already have someone in mind, or there’s 100s of (probably unqualified) applicants and your CV doesn’t make it to the top of the pile.

To make LinkedIn work for you, you need to reach out to the hiring manager or recruiter, or find someone in your network that can introduce you to the organisation.

Also update your LinkedIn profile so it gets picked up in searches by recruiters.

Good luck.

I’ve recently accepted a new role that I applied for through LinkedIn. I also interviewed for 4 others, received offers for another two and dropped out of the running for two others as they weren’t the right fit.

I was in an unexpectedly desperate situation due to a toxic manager and so spent the first couple of weeks connecting with and emailing recruiters in my industry, setting up calls with them and discussing search criteria. Two i’d had no contact with before found two roles for me. it was intense (I ended up doing 11 interviews in 4 weeks!).

As someone else mentioned, I set up job notifications and set my status as “open to work”. I checked jobs on LinkedIn daily but also emailed contacts in the industry to see if they had any roles not advertised.

The role I’ve accepted just happened to be advertised at the right time for me but two roles hadn’t been advertised and only came about because a recruiter contacted them for me.

Good luck with your search!

I should have also mentioned that under “jobs”’ on company pages, they sometimes have unsolicited advertisements so you can register your interest in case there are any openings. Two companies offered me temporary roles through that.
