I've worked in a retail management now for just over 10years, having done previous jobs within the company before that. The job is hard, demanding and unfortunately has unsociable hours, often having to work until 2300 and shifts starting at 0500 and obviously weekend's. Benefits are that the money is pretty good and they have just improved mat leave , so if i want more children thats also a plus. I have been on mat leave now for a year (first child) , and i never had any intention to return but to find a new job. But now its drawing close im worring if maybe sticking to what i know is better. Ive applied for a few jobs but just reading the job description i feel i am hugely inadequate for even the most basic admin role. Im not being self deprecating, i truely am. Ive had help with my CV and to complete applications but dont even get any further then that stage. Ive run departments of over 60 people yet it doesnt seem to help or translate into any role i would like, which is a starting admin role. Work sound like they are willing to be pretty flexible with my return and shifts. Should i just except that maybe returning to what i know is for the best? Help.
