New job and anxiety

Hi All
I started a new role a month ago and just need a bit of help reframing things. For context this was a side ways developmental move. I enjoyed my previous role and accomplished a great deal, which wasn't really recognised until I was working my notice and then it was as part and parcel of the panic mode. I had a lot of autonomy in my previous role mainly because of the set up/location. Although there were some strong personalities and ego's which didn't always make for a nice supportive, team environment (more everyman for himself!). Since starting my new role, I have really come to realise just how much I did in my old role, and whilst I do think it wasn't a sustainable way of working I also feel a bit like I have taken a step back. I am still getting to know my new LM, but feel slightly managed. On my first day I was told this is your role, this is my role type of thing and that there is no overlap. I request AL & SD through the system which is authorised by LM and then I have to send an outlook invitation with the details. I have also been asked to give LM access to my diary, so that he can see meeting details/locations etc. A large proportion of the team work only 2 days on site, including my LM, I have been told that I need to be on site 3 days, which is fine but it doesn't feel equitable, particularly when my equivalent in another team is working 2 days on site. When I am on site it is a hot desking set up, but the desk spaces are not set up properly with either kit that's works or kit that you can just plug in an go. My previous LM was lovely but at times not enough in the loop in terms of supporting my role as it was in a niche area and an aside from the main day to day business. I am on holiday this week but just feel slightly anxious about it all....
Any words of wisdom would be hugely appreciated.

I'm guessing you're being managed a bit more than you'd like simply because you are the new person and not yet trusted as such.

To start, I would draw attention to the inefficiencies of the hot desking and, for example, ask if there is any way extra equipment specifically for you can be sourced, as you are wasting time (note amount) trying to find working equipment, testing the equipment to find a working one etc When you next go in I would attach a 'not working' label on anything not working. If nothing can be done in the way of more equipment, my next move would be to suggest WFH on (day) as you are short of x or y equipment because A and B are using the only 2 working ones and I have to go to (other dept) and beg and that then has to be returned, or whatever.

I'm sure once you're well established and producing your usual great results you'll get more leeway with your LM

Thank you for your reply @Ariela , I can understand that my new LM needs to get to know me and trust needs to be built, moving internally I guess my expectations were that day to day stuff would be relatively similar. I guess when I have started new jobs previously I haven't noticed such a demarcation in roles. I have got on well with previous LM and always felt the personal connection but I am just not feeling it here. He is only onsite 2 days a week, which also has some impact. He is my LM but I work across 2 different teams, so is not directly connected to the work I do/will be doing. To some degree I am probably overthinking because I am not sure I have made the right move. In terms of the diary thing one day I was asked to ensure that he could see when I was busy etc, which is what my diary is set up for but I added him again so he could see that I had done as asked and the next day he wanted to see the details. I booked a desk and was told he thought I should sit with this team rather than where I had booked to get an idea of the wider work, but everyone is hotdesking. I know he hasn't yet completed a year in post so it maybe inexperience. I just can't seem to get to grips with the boundaries and politics here. I had a few days leave this week and am dreading going into work.
