I think I've made a mistake- new job

I've just started a new job and am wondering what the hell I've let myself in for.
Just spend the last 3 days on a team building event. They all seem lovely but i think ive been missold the job.
all they did was complain about the job.
I was told it was 70% remote and 30 % travel it now looks like 70% travel.
I currently have an ear and throat infection and my sciatica is playing up so I may not be thinking straight.
I have no idea what I'm doing in the next few weeks there seems to be no plan for what to do with me.

Have a 1:1 with your manager to clarify the travel situation and what the expectations are for the next few weeks. Try not to panic as jobs can be a bit chaotic when you start and it might settle down, keep talking to your manager.

Contact your manager before you start. Say you want to nail down the 30% travel ahead of schedule for planning purposes/ childcare ( if appropriate) and use that as a way to draw your lines and establish boundaries. If they start indicating travel may be more refer them back to what the job ad said/ what was said at interview and say that whilst you don't mind on occasion what's the plan to swap time back/ get Flexi days off etc after travel need has finished etc. show them you are willing to be flexible if they are.

I'd get your CV back out there.

Either the job isn't what you were sold, or you'll be working with a bunch of moaners.

I'm currently setting up my laptop. I'll contact my manager once it's done .

Contact your manager/HR and request clarification about the hybrid working arrangements and state that you would like this to be written in your contract.

If they misled you at interview I would cut my losses and make it clear to them that this is not the job you applied to and leave.

I was assured in my interview that my team worked remotely the majority of the time and that I would not need to be in the office more than once a month (it is a two hour commute each way for me & I have a disability).

Then a few months in they said they expected me to be in once a week which I refused to do and it has been an issue ever since.

It is the main reason why I am looking for a new job. Next time I will make sure there is a written commitment to remote working in my contract...
