I'm an occupational therapist, I'm rotational so that means I switch what area I work in every 9 months. When I took the job I was having driving lessons so didn't feel like community rotations would be an issue at the time. However I have since learned that I have severe dyspraxic and driving isn't an option for me. My employer is aware of this but has placed me on a community rotation because the person taking over my rotation had to do so early then planned due to their incompetence on the ward they were on so I had to be sent somewhere that could take me early. This means me doing my patient visits by bus so to save travel money I have to get the bus from my home to work and buy a bus pass that covers all my travel. This means I have to be up at 4.30am and I get home at 7pm. I'm the breadwinner of the family and our situation means it's difficult for both me and my partner to work and there are no jobs closer to home. I have raised my concerns with my employer but was simply told I knew what I was getting when I took the job. I don't want to cause problems as I really need my job but not sure I can do those long days until December.
What do I do?

I would ask for an Occupational Health referral and ask them to assess your dyspraxia. It’s a protected characteristic under the disability discrimination act, meaning your employer should make reasonable adjustments to the job description to allow you to fulfil the role.

That being said it may not mean you can escape your community rotation, however if you get an Access to Work assessment they can often assist with travel expenses so you can get taxis etc.
