Civil service pension Q

Hello - hopefully a quick question!

If you work for the civil service, what percentage of your salary do you contribute to your pension each month? I know they pay up to 27% employers contributions..

There’s a job I’d like to apply for but it’s a £10k salary drop compared to what I’m on now so I’m trying to work out if I can afford it!

The value of the pension benefit is pretty significant in my opinion - just get in and then apply for a promotion to get your salary back to where you want it to be 😉

A pp has posted the link to the contributions.

For each year you pay into your civil service pension it gives you 2.32‰ of your salary as yearly pension

Ah perfect thank you! Currently I pay in 5% and my stingy employers pays 3%. That’s one reason I’d like to get into civil service, plus other benefits are much better than I get currently.
