Gather, Zoom - best way to keep a new team connected remotely

We are a super small start up. Team of two expanding to around 4,6 people all doing the same role. The team will be spending 60% on sale calls, speaking to existing client and the remaining time completing the operational work.
I’d like to work ‘together’ and be visible for support, training and to get know the team as they work.
previously we’ve spent 50% of the day co-working on Google Meet which has worked well but now the team is bigger this wouldn’t work as the noise wouldn’t been conductive or helpful and I wouldn’t be able to spot anyone who needs support and help.
I took a look at Gather on Friday and tbh that feels silly. It looks like Minecraft.

Does anyone have any suggestions or anything that has worked for them?

Thank you

MS Teams. Industry standard

We used Slack when I worked at a startup and it was great for us. Different team channels and private DMs.

Allow your dcat to join in the meetings.. If you haven't got and a dcat get one..
Or better still get 2....

Slack. I've never spent loads of time on the video function though if that is what you are aiming for. Just the messaging is enough. I work for a largely remote start-up.

We’ve been using Slack. Up to know it’s been great but now we have a team all doing the same job we want to ‘see’ them and try to have something that imitates an office for a proportion of the day.

The problem is that any programme that lets you see and hear others as they work will be noisy because everyone will have their mics on. I’ve found Teams great in starting a new role - we just message or call as needed, which keeps folk connected. You may need to just work on being visible initially with regular check ins, shadowing sessions etc.

Agree. Not sure how it would work to be video /sound connected for long stretches given you spend so much on sales calls. Messaging seems the easiest way, combined with a team meeting each morning.

Our firm has tried multiple platforms starting during Covid and Teams has been what we settled on as the best company wide and have been using for a few years now. We use headsets when in the office to avoid any background disruption.
We're a project management consultancy firm so being able to collaborate on calls on shared documents/spreadsheets/drawings has been critical and Teams works best for this. We also found that most companies use Teams so everyone seems to know how to use the software. Beyond calls it's useful as well for document sharing or where multiple parties need to work on the same document.
