Do I stay or not?

Started new job within nhs, I hate it, get super anxious night before, crying in the mornings before I go in, it's more the staff than the actually job, no one has been helpful, or welcoming. I get told I'm too slow, which may be slightly true and I'm still learning the role (everyone has said it takes 6 months to learn role)

The manager has made other staff cry and not said a word to me since I joined.

We could afford maybe me to have a month or two months off but that's it.
Do I stay until I find another job or go and use my month's notice to find another job hopefully?

I think that it depends on your skill set and how easy it would be to find another job where you live. If you think that it would be fairly easy, I would leave - but before doing so, would it be worth speaking to your manager?

I would plan to leave but find another job first. Otherwise you might find yourself with a different kind of stress.

I have retail and care experience, and would be willing to go I got these, I will be dropping back to part time to support my child who the school think has SEN.

I have an interview this week for a job.

I have already decided from this morning that I think it's better I leave, I'm already upset and stressed about going in, my 5 year old is upset about going back to school too. It's a mix of stress and anxiety, they won't let me drop hours either.

Good luck. Hopefully you’ll feel better now you’ve made the decision.

Good for you, life is too short to worry about a shitty job you don't like. Good luck with your interview ☺️

QuestionableMouse · 15/04/2024 07:11

Life is too freaking short to stay in a job that's making you miserable. Start applying elsewhere!

Going worked in the NHS once. No one talked to me, I just went.
Remember my teacher once said that life taught him this: stress before 35 makes you feel better and after that age stress kills you

Do you have a sick pay policy? Personally if I was being paid sick pay I’d go off sick and look for a new job. If not being paid then can you afford to quit immediately? That toxic workplace won’t change so you have to leave.

Well done you. I think a lot of people in the same situation would love to do this. If you can afford it, then it's definitely the right decision. Hope everything works out well 🙂
