I was in a previous role for over a decade and moved last year to a new company after I felt undervalued after Mat leave and the whole team changed. The new situation and ft role is not a good fit for me, I’m very stressed with high anxiety and I can’t manage the workload or expectations. I also have preschool kids and it’s all too much. So I’ve handed in my notice. I feel a total failure and know that my next move needs to be right so the pressure is immense. Has anyone else ever felt the same? Does it get better? I’m wondering what the point of it all is, my mental health and confidence has been shot to pieces.

Sorry tochear that OP that sounds horrendous! I have had 2 awful jobs on the trot, managed a year in each for the sake of my CV.

I FINALLY have found somewhere I fit and have been successful so far. Kist gone up from 3 to 4 days which I hope is manageable, there is wfh and flexibility too.

Working when you have kids can be so tough.

Don't give up OP, or rather, guve up working if you can financially nad you want to for the sake of your MH.

Just re read your post, maybe yr MH needs some focussed attention.

Sorry to hear this OP. Please don't see this as failing- you've taken action to protect your mental health and leave a role that is a poor fit for you. Absolutely the right step to take.

Can you take a bit of time to think about what specifically made the situation so hard? For example, was it factors outside of work , such the chores at home building up or was it more work specific, such as a workload that was too big? It may take a bit of time to think through. I suspect it's a mix of both. It might be a helpful starting point when considering your next move
