Pupil support assistance

I'm going to be doing a PDA pupil support assistance course which will allow me to register with the SSSC.

The course details say with this qualification I could work in a nursery, primary school, high school

If I worked in a nursery what exactly would I be doing? I wouldn't be the one creating lesson plans would I? I'm just now sure what the job would be in that setting

Also. Is just being registered with SSSC enough to get this type of job?

I haven’t heard of those terms-is this a Scottish specific course?

PDA = Professional Development Award
SSSC = Scottish Social Services Council

OP, as a pupil support assistant you will support the teacher (even in a nursery) - you don't be responsible for creating lesson plans.

Best thing is to search for pupil support assistant jobs in nurseries and read the job description.

Here is one: https://www.myjobscotland.gov.uk/councils/west-lothian-council/jobs/pupil-support-assistant-x-2-livingston-village-elc-47885-373043

I'd be surprised if they didn't want prior experience of working with children in some form, as well as the SSSC registration.

Good luck :)
