Cleaning job - new contract & wage.

Hello!
Just wanted to see others opinions and I'm a bit stuck as to what to do.
I've worked for a business cleaning in and around a warehouse since September 23. For 2 hours a day, 5 days a week. They came to me with £25ph on a temporary contact until end of Nov 23. I haven't been on a contract since, but had the usual "it's being sorted".. Back in Nov I was told they wanted to offer me a permanent contract and have only now just been notified or seen details of this contract, yet not been signed due to thinking time regarding this.
In this new contract I'm being asked to do the same as I have been doing since Nov (they were new to the building so as the business has moved in there has been more to do since Sept) but they've now put forward £12ph.
After discussing with my husband, he seems to think that given I also walk (I don't drive) half an hour each way to work and back the majority of the week, that it's quite a dramatic drop and would be fair of me to go back and ask if £15ph is doable, and where the gap is the current and new wage has come from, given I'm also doing no less than previously asked of me and at times moving forward, a little more now and then as required.
I'm no good with this type of thing, hate confrontation and any type of money talk.
Do you think is reasonable or way too cheeky? My job consists of cleaning warehouse toilets, smoking bins, keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, general cleaning of a canteen, and any other jobs that are required of me as and when. I will also be trained on a floor sweeper which will require an extra hour added on to the 2 hours I'm currently doing due to the size of the warehouse.
Opinions are welcomed, thank you 🥴

You will always be paid more as a temp but yes ask if there is room for negotiation

Definitely negotiate!! Apparently men think of it as a game, so that's why they are not stressing.

What is the worst that can happen? If you ask for 15 (or maybe even 16ph) will they withdraw the offer completely? I don't think so! Worst that can happen is they will tell you the max they can offer and it's up to you whether to accept.

Most often the agreement is in the middle, e.g. you might agree 13 or 14ph

Good luck!
