Any recruiters here? Need some advice please!

I did finance for my uni degree and then went through quite a few different industries and vastly different roles in business.

My last job was PM in an engineering company before I quit during the pandemic for child caring.

Lately started looking for job again. I initially planned to go into IT as PM, but after having consulted in another thread, I mostly abandoned the idea.

I prefer going back to the engineering environment (really enjoyed it), but have to accept the reality that there aren't a lot opportunities for PM in engineering. So I started looking for construction or anything in a more technical environment.

But I don't have any engineering or technical degree.
I do have PRINCE2 and PRINCE2 Agile.

I'm fantastic at finding motivation to learn ferociously. That's how I was successful moving from one role to another and earned respects from coworkers.

Any advice please? How much chance do I stand to go back to the technical environment without relevant degrees?

Are you on LinkedIn? That’s where recruiters look for people.

I know I should! @Rocknrollstar , but I have been feeling uncomfortable to put my CV on LinkedIn profile.

Had to really go against my nature to boost/glorify myself in CV, if you see what I mean😂Goosebumps inducing that type of uncomfortableness.

Is it more effective than using online CV libraries?

@jobsearching2024 You're going to have to get uncomfortable I'm afraid.

I work in executive search and I live in LinkedIn.

If you don't have a profile - set one up (it can be basic to start off with) listing your last three roles and companies.

Network, search for similar profiles, see how they are set up, make connections and introductions. Search for recruiters that specialise in your field.

What you're asking for is not impossible- but it won't fall into your lap.

My experience shows that only shit or volume recruiters use CV sites so I doubt you'll get much from there.

@NCgoingdry Thank you for the candid comments!

Okay then, I will embrace LinkedIn.

(Wasn't aware CV library isn't a thing anymore. I was in my last company for over 10 years. So the practice in job market has really changed since then!)

Once you're in the swing of it - it's nothing scary. It's also a great networking tool and you can tailor a lot of your profile to come up in searches for recruiters etc. Plus the networking element will help. And job alerts.

You're welcome to PM me once you're signed up and I can take a look and advise through my profile.

CV library is still a thing - but for the niche you want I doubt it'll be fruitful at all.
