Competency/aptitude/skill test

I'm at a bit of a career crossroads. I have a poor line manager which isn't helping.

I would like to do a competency/aptitude/skills test that compares me to the general population to see what I'm better at/what my strengths are to see where my next step might be. I'm a jack of all trades and have really wide ranging skills and interests. I think a test like this that showed me what I'm best/good at would mean I have more confidence in my abilities.

I put a meeting in with my boss to talk about this exact topic, giving her time to prepare. She didn't. I'm none the wiser. And her feedback was 'just look at your last appraisal'. That measures me things on the organisation thinks are important. Which aren't necessarily skills I have that are underutilised here but could be really useful elsewhere (it's very immature in terms of its capabilities in my area so I'm definitely not maximising them!)

Does anyone know of a tool I could use to understand where I'm strong so I can look for roles that play to my strengths please? Underutilising your skills really gives your confidence a bash.

@Propertylover thank you for that. I think it's more for people at the start of their careers to give them some ideas. I've got about 20 years of experience but I don't know what I'm better at than the average person with this much experience in my industry. I don't know what I should make my next move.

@ArthurWrightus I still think the skill assessment may be useful as a starting point.

Have you thought about a career coach or a mentor if you want to stay in the same sector?

@Propertylover I did the assessment and it recommended a myriad of careers from digital product manager to security manager. So the career assessment wasn't quite what I was looking for. But I do appreciate you posting the link as it may be useful to others.

A career coach would ask me what I think I'm good at and my answer would be I'm not sure. A mentor would tell me what they did to get where they are but that wouldn't necessarily work for me. I've pinned it down to doing a strengths based assessment but I'm not sure which one fits the bill/it recommended/would actually work for me.
