Getting into an (internal) role when you don't have the standard experience

I am unfortunately being made redundant, but I may have a chance at least one other internal role, as it's a very big business - I'd like to stay with them as it's a nice place to work generally. I come from a totally content/editorial background, and there aren't many roles like mine available as they're generally being cut or not replaced. What there are, are a lot of roles that support the business making sales through bids and pitches and they need people with the sort of content and project management skills I have. People with my skillset have moved into these roles, so it's not out of the question, but the job descriptions generally ask for sale experience, which I don't have. However the HR person has told me this team is keen to have someone to help with case studies, which has been a big part of my job over the last 18 months.

What's the best way to play this at interview?

The one on Friday is for a new team and I plan to take the angle that as it's a team effort, I can be the resource for everything content related as I know people at the coal face don't have time to do the writing parts a lot of the time. I can pick up the sales stuff fairly fast too and I do understand how to do persuasive writing and presentation content.
