Paid lunch breaks

I’m really unhappy in my new-ish job, but I currently get a paid lunch break (and rarely have to work through it - maybe about once a month )

I also work part time (3 days a week), so having getting paid for 3 “non working hours ” means I get paid for 24 hours a week, but work 21. That is 12 paid non working hours a month…which all adds up.

i’ve never had paid lunch breaks before (I’m nearly 50) but have been self employed for the last 15 years until last year.

Is this really as rare as I think it is, or is it more common than I think?

if it is as rare as I think it is, my salary expectations for changing jobs will need to increase to cover it.

The p/t hours and paid lunch break are the only things in its favour at the moment. I keep thinking things will get better, but they don’t.

I suspect a paid lunchbreak is unusual, but having an hour 'trapped' in the middle of the day seems a waste of my time in truth.
Different if you wfh and can use that time productively, but sat in the staffroom isn't a lot of use to me.
Certainly not something I'd stay in a job I dislike for.

i used to have this in the civil service.

i never saw it as being a perk and didn't change anything for me. i rarely take a full lunch break anyway. i'd rather work through lunch and leave on time.

We get a hour unpaid break to use throughout the day. I never get it as it's just too busy🤦🏻‍♀️I normally grab something to eat at 4pm. Then I regularly don't get out on time so I end up working an extra 4/5 hours a week that I don't get paid for!!!

I've never had a paid lunch break in any job and don't know anybody who does either. I think it's unusual.
