Job seeking in february

Got made redundant from a tech company where I had worked for 10 years in October and I am still struggling to find something new. I have updated my LinkedIn profile and rewritten my cv with guidance from various headhunters several times. This week I must have applied for 50-100 jobs and heard nothing back. I fall between a couple of clear disciplines but have a lot of experience and transferable skills. Is anyone else having this problem with the tech sector? Any thoughts when it will pick up?

What kind of tech profession are you in? The civil service might be an option

If you've applied for 100 jobs in a week there's no way you've given each application the attention it needs. Be more discerning about what you apply for , pinpoint roles and tailor your application rather than just sending the same CV to all. You may be very qualified etc but someone else equally qualified who takes their time over the application will get the job.

Erp software. I have been trying to look for erp companies in the uk and clients who use it. I tried to get all transferable skills on to my cv, and many of the jobs I applied for this week were not strictly relevant. I’m just getting desperate. I will try a more individual approach next week and look to see if civil service work with my kind of software too. Thanks

You're absolutely wasting your time applying for 100 jobs in one week. I'm sure the quality of those applications are poor in comparison to people who have put real time and effort in.

Also, do you really want every single one of those jobs you've applied for? Try to relax, invest some time and 1.apply for jobs you actual want and 2. take time on your applications.

With how you're going about things, the best case scenario is that you'll end up getting a job at somewhere you hate and will feel stuck.

I'm sure you'll find something eventually if you pace yourself.

Would you consider temp/casual work in the meantime?
