Are these tops appropriate for the office?

In a debate at the moment and would appreciate some opinions. This is for a corporate office in London. These two tips would be warm just on their own no shirt underneath. A bit of mid drift showing. Thank you!

No. I don't think showing midriff is particularly professional. You are either showing a couple of inches of flabby tum - not nice - or an expanse of toned belly which will draw unwanted male attention.

Kedece2410 · 26/01/2024 01:03

No, if they're showing midrift they're not professional or appropriate for work

Tulipdot8 · 26/01/2024 01:12

Even with high waisted trousers ? so only a tiny amount of stomach is showing

I'd say any midriff showing is inappropriate for work. Definitely unprofessional. Does the person deal with the public?

BrutusMcDogface · 26/01/2024 01:14

“Midriff”, and no it is not appropriate for the office.

Goditswindy · 26/01/2024 01:16

No, can't really see the first one but the second is miniscule. It's lovely but not appropriate, it would ride up all the time (I've got a couple just like it so I know!)

SadlyACupOfTeaDoesNotSolveEverything · 26/01/2024 01:17

🙄 How can you get to a stage in life where you work in a professional environment and yet seem unaware that a cropped top isn’t appropriate attire? Genuinely baffling.

MorrisZapp · 26/01/2024 01:18

That little cardi looks really bobbly. Definitely lounging at home wear and not for the office.

Tulipdot8 · 26/01/2024 01:20

This is me wearing it

Lovely tops but not appropriate at all for the office

Botanica · 26/01/2024 01:36

Not ok. You need a vest or cami underneath if you are set on wearing them into the office.

FreyafromLondon · 26/01/2024 01:37

I'd say the cardigan is fine

Happyhappyday · 26/01/2024 01:38

They don’t look at all smart, quite frumpy and worn. Agree you need a vest or something underneath.

ActDottie · 26/01/2024 01:38

Even in my casual dresses office these wouldn’t be appropriate. I don’t think it’s appropriate to show your midriff in any work scenario.

Happyhappyday · 26/01/2024 01:38

Cardi is maybe ok, but not with those trousers right??

Olika · 26/01/2024 01:39

I don't think so.

Ilikegreenshoes · 26/01/2024 01:40

No, sorry OP, not professional.

beetr00 · 26/01/2024 01:47

both ok......WITH something underneath, NO midriff, really unprofessional @Tulipdot8 💐

Passingthethyme · 26/01/2024 02:05

Never! So tacky to show midriff in the office

NewKingontheBlock · 26/01/2024 02:11

Is that really how people dress in a corporate environment these days? I know things are more casual but honestly you look like you have just rolled out of bed!

BestZebbie · 26/01/2024 02:19

Are those your work trousers, too? As they are also a bit too casual and unstructured for work, really (especially if you are not wearing a super smart top or jacket with them). :-/

DramaAlpaca · 26/01/2024 02:21

In a corporate office? No, of course it's not professional to show your midriff. I'm astonished you need to ask, quite frankly. My workplace is very casual, but not a midriff to be seen.

ithinkthatmaybeimdreaming · 26/01/2024 02:24

Sorry, but no, not appropriate at all for an office - unless you wear something underneath.

coxesorangepippin · 26/01/2024 02:25

No?

They look too casual

Ladyj84 · 26/01/2024 02:26

Boggles me why you think there good in an office
